If results day has arrived and you don’t have an offer, Clearing is the ideal way to find yourself another course. Were your results better than expected? If so, take a look at UCAS’ Adjustment scheme, where you can look to change your course or University.
Clearing is a chance to apply for a university place if you haven’t done so already, or if you don’t quite get the grades you need to secure your university offers.
The UCAS Clearing scheme matches you with courses at universities and colleges that still have places available.
You are eligible for Clearing if:
Clearing for 2018 entry opens on Thursday 5 July 2018 and closes on Thursday 20 September 2018.
If results day brings better results than you were expecting, you might want to look at Adjustment. Adjustment is your chance to reconsider where and what to study – you may want to consider a course asking for higher grades, or a different university.
Adjustment usually runs from A-level results days until the end of August. You’ll need to act fast though as you only have five days from results day (or from when your firm choice offer becomes unconditional) to register for and use Adjustment in UCAS Track.
While you search for a new course in UCAS Track, you still have the place on your original firm choice course. You only give that up once you accept a place on a new course.
Think carefully before you swap your course for another one, and talk it through with family members, former teachers or careers advisers. Just because you can swap, it doesn’t mean you should.
If you need help with your application give our Admissions team a call on +44 (0)115 848 4200 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your query.
