Overview
At NTU Psychology, we’re committed to creating engaging and inclusive education that makes a difference to our students, our colleagues, and the communities around us. We deliver this by drawing on the expertise of our specialists in Scholarship and Research in Higher Education.
Undertaking scholarship and research that focus on higher education enables us to find out what works, and how we can enhance all aspects of learning, teaching, assessment, and student experience. We don’t just ‘invent’ solutions – we use evidence from tried and tested studies to make sure that what we do is effective. We work in partnership with students, professional services staff, employers, and academics, and we make sure we hear voices from everyone involved in education.
We share our work with the wider higher education sector – not only through journal articles, but through press articles, consultancy, short training courses, invited talks and workshops, and lots more. We write to be read by everyone involved in university education, including students and policy makers.
In sharing our knowledge, we have impact on others. Expertise at NTU Psychology is informing teaching, learning, and assessment practices in universities around the world, including in Australia, Canada, Ukraine, United States, and Mexico. We work with external bodies including the British Psychological Society, Advance HE, Student Minds, and the Royal Statistical Society.
We also support our colleagues in higher education with expertise focused on inclusion and education-focused academic career development. When we say we’re here to enhance higher education, we mean for everyone. Students are important to us – and students benefit from well-supported staff.
