About our department
Fashion at NTU is as broad as it is bold. It combines craft and commerce, tradition and transformation, culture and communication.
The Department of Fashion unites all aspects of design with management, marketing and communication, forming one of the UK’s most forward-thinking fashion communities.
From textile design and knitwear innovation to retail and digital storytelling, our students learn from leading academics, makers, marketers and media specialists, many of whom bring decades of experience from across the global fashion industry. Working in state-of-the-art studios and specialist labs, collaborating across fashion, art, technology, sustainability and business — reflecting real-world industry practice.
We’re not just connected to the fashion industry: we define it. We collaborate with global brands on live briefs; undertake placements across the world; participate in prestigious competitions; and boast graduate destinations spanning luxury houses, pioneering start-ups and global head offices. As a student here, you’ll build more than a portfolio, you’ll build your future in the creative industries.
In this department, we don’t just study fashion. We make it possible. We challenge it. We redefine it.
Our fashion courses
We’ve mastered the balance between theory and practice, helping our graduates to secure work with global brands like Nike, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Dr. Martens and Burberry, across our design and creative business fashion and textiles courses.
