Role

Academic Team Leader, Property Management and Development, Paul Royston is a Chartered Surveyor with extensive experience in property analysis, investment and real estate economics. He heads a team of over twenty full and part-time academics within the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment which is responsible for delivering Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Paul is module leader for the Real Estate Investment module delivered to MSc Real Estate and MSc International Real Estate Investment and Finance students. He also contributes to valuation and economics teaching on the bachelors’ courses. Paul has extensive experience of developing, managing and delivering RICS accredited masters’ courses in Spain, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. He has contributed to RICS conferences and CPD events in Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and Cyprus. He has delivered in-house training in valuation and investment appraisal to DTZ, Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman and Wakefield. He is a regular presenter at the European Real Estate Society research conferences. He has recently received funding for research projects funded by the RICS Education Trust, Investment Property Forum Education Trust and Nottingham Regeneration Ltd. .In 2006 he was project manager responsible for the delivery of an EU PHARE consultancy contract to CzechInvest, the Czech Republic’s inward investment agency. This project was delivered in collaboration with KPMG offices in Prague and Budapest. Paul is an active RICS Assessment of Professional Competence assessor for both practitioners and academics.
