Overview
The Governance, Security, and Sustainability research group examines how political systems respond to the rapidly changing global, regional, and domestic conditions shaped by intersecting challenges of security, democracy, sustainability, diplomacy and foreign policy.
The Group's research spans global, regional, and national security; diplomacy, foreign policy, and international cooperation; migration and borders; climate change, energy transitions, and environmental governance; as well as electoral policy, parliamentary studies, local policymaking and democratic institutions. The group brings critical perspectives on citizenship, political participation, stakeholder engagement, public attitudes, and inequality.
Through interdisciplinary, external/community engagement and policy-engaged research, it advances understanding of how governance can adapt to complex, overlapping crises in more just, democratic, and sustainable ways.
