Living in student accommodation is a great way to live independently, make new friends, and settle into your new life at university as you become part of the NTU community.

If this is your first time living in your own place, you’ll really want your accommodation to feel like home.

There are many accommodation options available both on and near the University campuses and in the city centre. These include halls of residence and shared university houses provided by NTU and our partner, UPP.

There are a wide choice of rooms, in a safe, secure and supportive environment. Accommodation includes en suite bedrooms with shared, fully-equipped kitchen-dining area; bedrooms with shared bathrooms; or studios.

Each of our residences includes:

  • security - including CCTV, door entry systems and on-site or on-call security staff
  • utility bills - internet, heating, water and electricity bills paid for in your accommodation fees
  • contents insurance - free basic contents insurance, which you can easily top-up for more expensive items.

Typical support in accommodation includes:

  • welcome reps
  • reception staff
  • university warden service – providing out-of-hours wellbeing support
  • student accommodation support officers - providing guidance in resolving accommodation issues and signposting to other services.

Residence Life

The Residence Life programme — exclusively for students in UPP halls at NTU — provides access to a variety of free events throughout the year.

With events including weekly socials, ‘do it together’ activity kits, celebrity speakers, cultural events, life skill sessions, competitions, and giveaways, it's a great way to meet new people and try new things.

Student Accommodation Support Officers (SASOs)

The University has a dedicated team of Student Accommodation Support Officers (SASOs).

Whether you're staying in NTU, UPP or private halls of residence, SASOs are here to offer help and support.

Housing Hand guarantor service

NTU has partnered with Housing Hand to provide guarantor services for students who would otherwise struggle to provide a UK guarantor.

You can find more information about the services and links to start the application process within the relevant accommodation information pages. NTU students who follow the links provided will receive a discounted rate for their guarantor fee.

Please note, you do not need to provide a guarantor for NTU or UPP accommodation.
