Book of condolences - Alex Daly
The University understands how difficult it can be when we lose someone close to us. We have opened up this online book of condolence to bring together tributes.
If you would like to offer your condolences or pay tribute you are invited to leave a message on this page.

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Alex Daly, a second year NBS student on the BA (hons) Business Management and Economics course.
Alex was a strong student, who engaged in and contributed fully to his studies. The tutors who taught and supported Alex remarked on how he ‘brought a quiet confidence’ into the sessions. Alex was a popular student who made many friends both in his group and across the other NBS degrees.
Alex was always keen to learn and to soak in all that University offered. Alex will be very missed by his fellow students, friends, tutors and networks across the NBS / NTU community. Gone too soon.
Our deepest condolences to his family at this difficult time.
The first time I met Alex was before the start of university at an open day where we happened to sit next to each other. Little did I know we would meet again on the first day. We soon became close friends playing and watching football, mostly making fun of arsenals latest loss, which he would always have a list of excuses for.
In my first year before the pandemic I would spend almost every day in uni with Alex. Between lectures we would get food and sometimes go back to his and play fifa. Alex was a best friend and I miss him all the time, but I’m glad I have many memories I can look back on with a smile. Rest in peace

Alex was one of the first people I met at uni and as I got to know him I saw what a lovely guy he was. There’s not a time I can think of when I saw him without having a laugh, he was truly a great friend. Will miss you Alex, rest in peace.

Alex was kind, always smiled and could give and take a joke. He was a great person to have in a group. We all enjoyed working with him and would have loved to get to know him better. He will be missed and remembered. Our thoughts are with his family and friends in this hard time. Rest in peace.

Alex was such a legend. I met him on the first day of uni, and little did I know we'd be close friends, going out every week, gyming 5x a week and spending most days together, whether it was watching arsenal get turned over in the europa league and laughing at him, ordering dominos, or just chilling together, little did I know I'd be cherishing these memories we had and that I'm never going to see him again. Life without Alex is hard, knowing you're not gonna be walking down the stairs with your tea towel over your shoulder and the beats around your head breaks my heart. You really was a best mate to me, I wish I told you that more. Alex you truly are a legend and there isn't a day I'm not thinking about you. I love you bro. Rest in peace Alex Daly

Went into university with Alex most days, every week during my first 6 months at uni before the pandemic. He was such a genuine and sound lad who was one of the first mates I met on my course. We always had a laugh in and outside of lessons. Alex will be missed massively. RIP mate X
