Book of condolences - Andrew Moore

The University understands how difficult it can be when we lose someone close to us. We have opened up this online book of condolence to bring together tributes.

If you would like to offer your condolences or pay tribute you are invited to leave a message on this page.

Andrew Moore

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden and untimely death of our colleague Andy Moore, Business Account Manager in the Apprenticeship Team at NTU for over four years.

Andy joined the apprenticeship team as an Industry Skills Manager working on the ESF GRADS project in March 2020, bringing extensive knowledge and experience within the training and education sector, with a particular focus on Apprenticeships.

Quickly proving his value, he progressed into the Business Account Manager role within 6 months and was responsible for recruitment onto the Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeships for ADBE.

He took on this role with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic and it was no surprise that apprenticeship recruitment in each year he was in the team surpassed the targets set. His positive outlook and contribution to the team will be deeply missed.

Andy leaves behind a wife and two sons.

Andy was a vital member of the Apprenticeship team. He was an expert in his field, professional in his approach and appearance, and passionate about supporting young people and businesses to thrive. He cared deeply about his colleagues and brought a smile to every room he entered. Andy will be greatly missed.

From my first day at NTU, Andy welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I'll always miss his beaming smile and the infectious energy he'd bring to every room.

Andy's passion, drive and genuine warmth have always inspired me and forever will.

My deepest condolences for you, Sam, Nathan and Dan.

Rest in peace, Andy.

What a privilege it was to work with Andy for the past 4 years. He was the ultimate professional and a true gentleman. I'll miss his passion, enthusiasm and knowledge, But most of all, I'll miss that huge smile and the giggles we would have. Sending my sincere condolences to Sam, Nathan and Dan. RIP Andy x

Andy was a gentleman in every sense of the word. Always professional, always enthusiastic, always kind, always suited and booted. I worked with Andy for almost 4 years and always enjoyed spending time with him; I never left a conversation with Andy feeling worse, he was always uplifting.

I left NTU in April 2023 and returned in February 2024, the day before coming back I said to my wife 'I'm looking forward to seeing Andy Moore'. I'm glad I did, and I'll miss not seeing him again.

Andrew, you were a delight and pleasure to have on the apprenticeship team. As a course leader, I appreciated your support both for myself and for my colleague, Mike Baulcombe, and you helped to make the experience for the apprentices just a little bit less daunting.

Sending my best wishes and condolences to your family and dear ones, and olding you in my heart.

With love

Anthony

This is one of the hardest tributes I have had to write. Andy was a much loved and respected colleague. He inspired and generously shared so much of himself, his talents and skills with so many. He dogged determination, professionalism and breadth of his intelligence was staggering. All of which he exhibited with laughter and a smile. He had a way at afirmming all he came into contact with and was just so generous spirited. I will be eternally grateful we got to say goodbye and to tell him how much we cared for him and that we had his back.. Thank you to Sam, Nathan and Dan for lending him to us. He loved you all so much and I know how much he will be sadly missed. Andy Moore leaves an indelible mark on everything he touched. He's gone, but will never be forgotten! Rest well Andy...Love Jaz

Andy was one of the first people I met when I started with the apprenticeship team at NTU, and from that first meeting, I knew he was one of the good ones! Andy was generous, always willing to share his knowledge and give his time to support and guide others. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with his family, loved ones and all who knew him.

I've known Andy since his time over at Ruddington and even then he was always smiling and cheerful. Such a sad loss for a wonderful man.

I first new Andy at Central College at Ruddington. Every time I met Andy he was so happy, always positive about everything and everyone and his smile and laugh was infectious. It is what I remember about him the most. His love and passion for apprenticeships, of his professionalism in developing programmes with employers for young people to thrive in the world of work, was inspiring. At NTU events Andy was always someone I would head for, for a laugh and a catch up – as well as listening to new ideas and developments he was working on. He will be so sadly missed. A true gentle and kind gentleman. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Heartfelt condolences to Sam, Nathan and Dan on the tragic and devastating loss of such a wonderful and amazing human being. Andy always had a smile on his face and a warm welcome for everyone he met. His positivity, warmth and generosity were evident in every aspect of his work. I'll miss out conversations about cycling, holiday destinations, family life and our classic car issues, specifically relating to our old Jaguar's... I feel proud to have known Andy and to have had him as a friend. His passing was far too soon and I'll miss him dearly. RIP Andy.

When I joined the Apprenticeships Team at the beginning of 2022, Andy was the person who showed me the ropes given our shared Business Account Manager role in the construction sector in Apprenticeships. We swiftly formed not only a close working relationship, but a genuine friendship in and out of the workplace. I'll be forever grateful for Andy's support, kindness, his professional approach and his positive attitude, always with a smile on his face. Like many of my colleagues, I'll miss Andy greatly especially our Tuesday morning catch ups over coffee, NTU will be a sadder place without him. My condolences to Sam, Nathan and Dan, may he rest in peace.

Our family are so very sad of this terrible news, we knew Andy for many years, my husband Gary first met Andy on the football field when they joined The Cadland Football Club in Chilwell in the 90s which led onto many social occasions with the partners joining too, mainly over beers & food!
It was a lovely surprise to bump into Andy a few months ago in Terrace Royal - who'd of thought he would end up working at the same company and more so in the same building as me :0) we will all miss Andy, he was such a kind, happy, cheery soul and we send all our love to Sam and her boys Lots of Love Donna & Gary xxxx

Andy had a permanent smile on his face. He saw the positive in all situations. He was smart, caring, hardworking and supportive. I was so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him both at NTU and previously at Central College. He talked about his wife and sons often telling me of the adventures they had been on and plans that they were making. I will miss seeing him around. xxxx

It has been such a pleasure getting to know Andy over the last few years since I joined the apprenticeships team. He had such a great energy about him and an unquestionable work ethic. He really cared about doing the best for everyone and always had a huge smile on his face.
We both shared a keen interest in travel, Nottingham Forest and would sit chatting about holiday plans and exchanging tips on places to visit in the world.
I will really miss Andy and know anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will feel this huge loss.
Condolences to Sam, Nathan, Dan and all Andy’s family/friends.
