Book of condolences - Saffron Freshwater
The University understands how difficult it can be when we lose someone close to us. We have opened up this online book of condolence to bring together tributes.
If you would like to offer your condolences or pay tribute you are invited to leave a message on this page.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of student, Saffron Freshwater who was studying her final year of the BA Hons Photography course at Nottingham Trent University.
Saffron spread her happiness to everyone, with an empathic concern for those around her. She was generous with her kindness towards others and a wonderful student and genuine friend.
As a photographer she was inspired to experiment creating abstract objects and artists books, her outcomes feeling unique and special every time. She brought a wonderful spirit to our community.
Saffron will be missed by so many but will always be remembered for the positivity she brought. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.
I was lucky enough to have taught Saffron. Her energy and light enriched our group, and our NTU Photo community. She brought a type of sunshine to the group which will always be treasured. Her family and loved ones are very much in my thoughts. x

Saffron was the first person I spoke to on our course, her welcoming attitude and kindness helped me settle into university. It was a pleasure to call Saffron a friend, I will miss her greatly.

I taught Saffron in the very first term of her first year and I still remember her well. She had a gift for transforming the everyday into something fantastical and magical, although she always reassured the group "No, that's what it actually looked like when I took it!" She had a great sense of wonder for the world and the ability to communicate this through her pictures. Her spirit will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathies go out to those that love her.

I had the pleasure of working with Saffron during her level 2 exhibition project and continued to discuss her ideas going into year 3. We had some wonderful discussions and Saffron would always challenge me with her ideas and outcomes, such great fun. We will miss Saffron but her memory and words will be with us for ever
“The focus of this project will be to create constructed landscapes combined with geometric shapes. I have been attracted to shapes within photography, as well as surrealism as a genre which resulted myself in combining these two into a photography project”.
