Book of condolences - Tracey Robertson

The University understands how difficult it can be when we lose someone close to us. We have opened up this online book of condolence to bring together tributes.

If you would like to offer your condolences or pay tribute you are invited to leave a message on this page.

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Nottingham Law School student, Tracey Robertson.

Tracey studied the LLM Health Law & Ethics course. Her tutors knew her as a lively participant in seminars and, overall, a delight to teach. She performed well in her assessments, with contributions that demonstrated a sharp and engaged academic mind. Tracey had experience with several law firms and was working towards a career in the mental health sector.

A much-valued Course Representative, Tracey worked closely with NTU colleagues and students while actively supporting others on her course. She enjoyed composing and publishing bespoke poems for special events such as weddings, christenings and anniversaries.

We offer our deepest condolences to all family and friends.

Tracey had the kindest soul and most contagious laugh I have ever encountered. As far as friends go, she really was one of a kind, spreading so much love and positivity around her always.

I am so lucky to have met her as my first friend on the LLM course and will always be so grateful that I got to know her in my lifetime.

You will be missed Tracey, rest peacefully x

Tracey, you touched many people's lives at Nottingham Trent during your time here. Right from the outset, you were warm, open and honest. It was clear that you wanted to do your best on the course and then use your talents to help others. It was a pleasure to teach you Law and I am just glad I met you.
I was very lucky to be your personal tutor.

Dear Tracey
The news of your death still feels so surreal. We had never met physically, but those moments spent in the virtual class and the few times we had a chat through social media gave me an insight into the wonderful, free spirited and open-minded individual that you are.

I admired how you communicated and stood firm on your beliefs, I liked your fighting spirit and cheerfulness, and your willingness to give and ask for help when appropriate. I never had the chance to tell you this but your openness about mental health had a great impact on me. You will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you and your family.

Your impact on the NTU community and beyond is widely felt. I'm grateful to have met you in classes this year and have some lovely discussions. May those closest to you have their hearts eased and find some moments of comfort, while mourning such a loss.

Dear Tracey,

I wish this was not the occassion. Your passing has been difficult to understand. You were one of the most lovely and kind people I met during my LLM program. You were open about mental health and used every opportunity to encourage others. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that you are gone. Wherever you are, I pray you are at peace and getting the needed rest you deserve. You left behind a lot of broken hearts and friendships. We will miss your smile and beautiful spirit. Rest on dear. You are loved.

Tracey was an absolutely wonderful woman, she would do anything for anyone, she had such immense support for others.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Tracey for a short period on the LLM course.I loved hearing her input within the seminars, she always had something really interesting to add.

I admired Tracey a lot for her determination and commitment, regardless of her battles she always pushed herself and I was so proud of her for it. She will always be an inspiration of mine, I wish I could have told her that sooner.

I would like to send my condolences to all of Tracey's family and friends, I am thinking of you all at such a difficult time.

Rest in peace Tracey.

Tracey Robertson - my first friend during the masters studies, an amazing mother, writer and the strongest person I knew.
I was looking forward to graduating with you and finally getting to physically meet each other as we talked about it for ages. You were an absolute angel and will be missed. RIP ❤️

Tracey was a wonderful student with a big heart. She was a very warm and friendly person and would have been as comfortable talking to the Queen as someone in the bus queue. She was inclusive and appreciated what makes us all human and what connects us. She was a force for good in the world and supported others both in her personal life and as a student. Tracey will be remembered by her family, friends, tutors and fellow students as a very special person. It was a privilege to know her and she will always be remembered.
