Book of condolences - Jacob Hardwick
The University understands how difficult it can be when we lose someone close to us. We have opened up this online book of condolence to bring together tributes.
If you would like to offer your condolences or pay tribute you are invited to leave a message on this page.
On 17th February 2026, our NTU Community lost Jacob Hardwick, who was in his second year of BSc Property Development and Planning.
Jacob was a valued member of our Student Community and is remembered fondly by his friends, classmates and lecturers who all have keenly felt his tragic death. Not only was he very popular with his fellow classmates, but Jacob was also very popular amongst other cohorts in the School.
Jacob was a thoughtful and dedicated student at NTU and recognised in the wider community as a talented Rugby Union player. We wanted to offer the opportunity for you to share your thoughts and memories of Jacob and we know his family will appreciate them at what is such a difficult time.
Dear Sarah, Ian, Sam and Ben
On behalf of the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment, I want to extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences on the loss of Jacob, your beloved Son. We were devastated to learn of Jacob’s passing, and our thoughts are with you and your family during this profoundly difficult time.
Jacob was a valued member of our academic community, and their presence touched the lives of many especially those who studied alongside them in the Property, Development and Planning cohort within our School.
Please accept our deepest sympathy. We are holding you in our thoughts and sending you strength and comfort.
With heartfelt condolences,
Dr. Andrew Knight, Executive Dean – on behalf of the School Executive in the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment
