Doctor Tarek Metwally is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Business School teaching on the following modules:

Career overview
Prior to joining Nottingham Trent University, he held the positions of a Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Nottingham. Tarek holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nottingham and is an Associate Fellow of the Advance HE (AFHEA).
Tarek has more than ten years of academic experience. In his current role, he teaches Corporate Governance and Risk Management, Financial Management, Accounting in its Organisational Contexts, and Management Accounting for Decisions. He also supervises students’ research projects.

Research areas
Tarek's current research interest lies in addressing contemporary issues in corporate governance (including board diversity and executive pay), sustainable accounting (including social and environmental accounting) and corporate reporting (including CSR reporting, financial reporting, and political disclosure). His research has been presented in several national and international conferences, including the 2023 Conference of the BAFA Corporate Finance and Asset Pricing SIG (University of Nottingham), the 2021 International Corporate Governance Conference (Cardiff University), and the 2015 Annual Meeting of the American Accounting Association.
