Role

Sian is Course Leader for the BA (Joint Honours) Business Management and Accounting & Finance degree, one of the undergraduate degrees in Nottingham Business School. As Course Leader Sian manages the student experience and liaises with internal and external stakeholders to provide a relevant and current experience for students on the course. Sian teaches on undergraduate accounting modules and supervises research projects.

Sian began her career as an accountant at the British Broadcasting Corporation, and then held internal audit and management accounting positions at The Boots Company plc and as a regional accountant at William H. Brown.

Sian then moved into education, as a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, teaching and module leading on accounting and finance, personal development and sustainability modules. She has also been Assistant Course Leader with responsibility for placement year students and has undertaken work placement visits.

Sian has volunteering experience as a school governor and as a member of a public sector finance committee.

Sian is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Fellow of the Higher Education Institute. Sian studied a master’s degree in Values and the Environment and has used this to inform her teaching in the area of sustainability and social and environmental accounting.
